01 · Know the exam
Use the test structure as your study map. Your preparation should train both English ability and task-specific technique.
Four recorded sections with a range of everyday and academic situations. Train prediction, spelling, signpost words and paraphrase recognition.
Work through passages and question types such as headings, matching, multiple choice, completion and True/False/Not Given.
Task 1 focuses on presenting information; Task 2 asks you to develop a clear, relevant response to an argument, problem or question.
A face-to-face assessment covering personal questions, a longer individual turn and deeper discussion. Fluency, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation all matter.
02 · Listening
IELTS frequently changes the wording between the question and the recording. Strong listeners expect the same meaning to arrive in different language.
Recognise meaning, not just words. Practise how IELTS may express the same idea using different language.
Question → locate → compare meaning → decide.
03 · Reading
Reading success is not simply reading faster. It is finding the right part of the text and checking whether it really answers the question.
04 · Writing
Good IELTS writing is controlled: answer the exact question, organise ideas logically, support them, and use accurate language.
Identify the main features, select meaningful comparisons and support them with accurate figures. Avoid listing every detail.
Identify the situation, relationship and purpose. Keep the tone appropriate and make every bullet point clear.
Determine the essay type before planning. Make your position clear when required and make each body paragraph do one clear job.
05 · Speaking
The examiner is assessing your English communication, not whether your personal story is impressive. Give a direct answer, then extend it naturally.
Answer → Why? → Example → Contrast → Future
Example: “Yes, I do. Mainly because… For example… However… In the future, I’d like to…”
